Blazing a Trail with Scrappy Tracks

It’s October 1st and time for a new quilt block! This month we’re blazing a trail with the Scrappy Tracks quilt block!

Yep, I’d reached Silly Level 100 by the time I shot this photo! What can I say? I shot pictures of all the Friendship Quilt Blocks in a row one day more than a year ago in the Crafty Cottage. It’s hard to believe I have been working on this quilt for over a year and a half. Just last week I started stitching the victory laps around the edges to prepare for putting the blocks together. It’s almost done!

Just a quick reminder on that, yes, it’s great to stitch your victory laps and prepare your binding, but do NOT cut your blocks down to size until you have all the blocks and binding ready to go.

The edges do tend to fray and please trust the word of the girl that stitched 365 blocks together once (and will NEVER do that again!). You want to cut, then immediately begin stitching them together with binding.

Of course you can always get a refresher on how we bind the blocks together in this Quilt As You Go Tutorial right here.

And one more passing note, I am going to try to blog every single day in October! I’m testing myself to see if I can do it, on top of a very full plate. I miss writing and sharing little notes with you guys so that is my goal this month.

Let’s go quilt,
