Let’s Make an Open Door Quilt Block – Mini Block Monday #20

A few weeks ago we learned how to piece a Magical Door Block, which was the closed door into the magical world of Quilst. Of course, we also have to have an Open Door block so we can get out of Quilst! Learn how to piece this block from the book Mally the Maker and the Queen in the Quilt in this new piecing tutorial:

Mini Open Door Quilt Block Piecing Instructions

This block is pieced with two Half Square Triangles using my favorite Two at a Time HST method. Watch the video to see how this method works, and how to trim your HSTs to measure 1 inch square. The rest of this block is pieced very similar

I’ve just switched home sewing machines and I have to say, I love piecing and machine quilting on the Janome 1600!
