How to Piece the Patchy Octagon Block

This block comes together really quickly with just 8 half square triangles. Click Here to find a tutorial on piecing 2 half square triangles at a time.

You’ll also piece together small squares to create the scrappy happy rectangles for the block. Just watch the colors of your scraps and try not to have too many matching colors end up in the same space.

Have fun piecing this super simple quilt block this month!

As you can see, this quilt block will likely take more time to cut out than it will to piece together! Spend your extra time catching up on past quilt blocks. We only have five more blocks to go before the Friendship Quilt Along is complete!

Let’s go quilt,

I still can’t download Block 8 completely. When I print it only part of it will print but the instructions will not.
    Please help. Thanks

Hi Mary – I’m sorry, but this sounds like an issue on your end with your computer. Please ask for help from a friend or family member or go to an office store like Office Depot and they can help you print from the download email.
