Ruler Quilting Leaf Veins – Dream Big Quilt Along #2
I hope you’re ready for ruler quilting! This week we’re quilting the Dream Big fabric panel with Leaf Veins using the Super Slide or Mini Slide rulers.

Quilting Homework for Week 2
Leaf Veins is the perfect ruler quilting design to quilt in the petals of Dream Big. The organic flowing lines perfectly accent the flower shapes. The design begins with a center stem and this is very easy to quilt using the long Super Slide ruler.
After setting the foundation with the stem, branch out with more curving lines with either the Super Slide or Mini Slide rulers. I played with quilting the lines exactly 1/2-inch apart and this created a very soft design:
You can also create a pinstripe effect by stitching lines 1/4 inch apart, then leaving a 1/2 inch gap. It’s a subtle pattern, but really makes the Leaf Vein design stand out beautifully.
