Free Motion Quilt Angry Stitch #445
This is the total opposite to Happy Stitch, with angry eyebrows and a big frown. You might be wondering where you’d use such a cross design on your quilts. Why would we want to put angry faces on a quilt?
The funny thing about this design is it made me happy to quilt it! While all the faces were getting angrier and angrier, I found myself getting happier and more silly as I formed the shapes over the little quilt square.
See what I mean in this quilting video:
So where will this free motion filler design work best in our quilts? I think it could work just about anywhere as the cute overall design over a very eccentric baby quilt or the dense filler in the background of a wholecloth. The nice thing about Stacking Designs like these is they can work just about anywhere in your quilts.
Personally I found Angry Stitch to be a great mood lifter and no, I don’t think putting a design like this into a quilt would make it negative. I think it would make any quilt more interesting and might make someone looking at the quilt surface do a double take and wonder – why did Mom quilt frowny faces all over my quilt?
