I’ve been Nominated!

Whoo hoo! I’ve been nominated for Sew Cal Gal’s 2012 Golden Quilter Awards!

I’ve been nominated for “Best Teacher / Instructor” and “Most Influential” and my tiny little online quilt shop, leahday.com/shop/, has been nominated “Best Online Quilt Shop”!

I’m so surprised and happy to be recognized and see my name in the same list as super star quilters like Bonnie Hunter, Alex Anderson, and Jinny Beyer! I’ve never been nominated before and it just makes my day to feel recognized for the work I’ve shared here on the Free Motion Quilting Project. Thank you!

Of course, nominations are only the first round! You have until March 31st to cast your vote for your favorite quilting teachers, designers, quilt shops, and more right here.

Super thank you for Sew Cal Gal for putting together the Golden Quilter Awards. This has really made my day!

Let’s go quilt!

How exciting for you to be nominated! You certainly have my vote for best teacher. In December, I found your youtube videos and I had to watch everyone of them. My weekend was very busy. I am recently retired and am able to sew on a more regular basis. I have several UFO's that need to be put together and quilted. Piecing was easy to do with my previous schedule, but now I have time to devote to putting everything together and not feel rushed. Your videos have been very helpful to me. They are very well put together. Your demonstrations and explanations are very clear and organized. It is obvious that each lesson is well thought out and planned. For me, it is easy to follow along because you stay so focused on the skill you are demonstrating. I am behind on practicing the lessons, but getting used to scheduling all of my "free" time has been a challenge. Amazing how hard it is to fit all of the things I have been waiting to do into a 24 hour period! Best wishes and congratulations.

How exciting to have been nominated. You most certainly have my vote for best teacher. I love your videos, they are so clear and detailed. When I found them, it was like hitting a jackpot. I have only recently begun quilting on a regular basis. I have several UFO's that I need to finish. The piecing part is really my favorite and fit my previous time schedule. Now that I am retired, I am pulling out all those pieces and putting them together. Your videos have been a great help to me. You are very generous with all of your freely given information.
