Quilting on the iPhone
Yesterday project follower named Diane emailed me about a new iPhone app:
Apparently this app features my YouTube videos from the project! You can watch the videos on your phone while you quilt.
Yesterday it was being sold for $0.99 a download, but after a quick email to the developer, this is now being offered for FREE!
So click here to check out this iPhone app at the Apple Store
Now I must be the only 26 year old in existence without a cell phone, but I know many quilters of all ages are jumping on the iPhone app bandwagon.
With my videos are showing up here, maybe I should reconsider my no cell phone policy?
Regardless, I hope you all enjoy the videos now being shared in a variety of formats. The videos are meant to be free and enjoyed by all, so enjoy!
That’s it for this Feature Friday. I’m heading upstairs for some much needed down time with my Horizon.
Let’s go quilt,
Leah Day
Congrats! That is awesome. I'm going to go download it right now.
Sorry to comment twice, but I was looking at the download site again, and did a cut and paste of the disclaimer.
"You must be at least 17 years old to download this application
Frequent/Intense Mature/Suggestive Themes"
I thought this was darn funny! Free motion can certainly be INTENSE, but so far I haven't found it too SUGGESTIVE!!
I tried to download this app after reading a post. I had a funny pop up, it asked if I was over 17 because quilting 101 has "age restricted material" in it! Thought you might think that was funny. Also, the app can not be downloaded right now. There was a second pop up stating the app was being modified and was not available now. I'll try again tomorrow.
Lol! I had no idea my free motion quilting videos were so illicit!
Sorry about the app not being available today. I had no way of testing to see if it would download properly or not, but I'm sure if you check back tomorrow it will be ready.
Cheers,
Leah
Leah! Your "How do I Quilt this?" video series has come, for me, just in the nick of time.
I just finished a quilt top that I am madly in love with, and terrified that I'm going to really screw it up when I quilt it. I have watched your videos, and now I have a plan that I think will work.
I am so glad I found your website when I set out to teach myself how to sew. Now when people ask me, how did you learn to do this, I say, "my friend, Leah, taught me!?
PS. I have a cell phone, but no Iphone. My laptop, however, is never far from me when I'm working in my "sweatshop" as my kids like to call it, and it always has one of your videos cued up.
Keep up the AMAZING work, and congratulations to your and your husband for your new endeavor!
Well, this is a no-brainer! Of course I'll download to my iPod – and I have! I think this will be pretty useful, since my iPod is always with me at the sewing machine anyway – now I don't have to wrest the Netbook from Mr. W.'s grasp!
Thanks for sharing the info, the link and your time and knowledge!! 🙂
You can always see the videos on the YouTube app for your iPhone. It is free & preloaded on all Apple devices. I have a subscription to your channel & i see every new that comes out. Just do a search for LCVday & subscribe. I would NOT download an app from a developer who tries to make money off other people's work!! That's shady!
Well I guess I must be the only 37 year old without a cell phone…He, he. I'm in a phase of my life I like to call "The Great Untethering". Looks like I'm in good company.
P.S. Maybe you should do a quilt design with cell phones connecting to one another? That would be fun to see, lol.
Wow, Leah, I can't believe you don't have an i-phone! But if it makes you feel better, I don't have one either. Still, it is great that you helped get this app for free for quilters with i-phones!

Sorry, I'm a Blackberry addict and I'm not afraid to say so, so iPhone apps or not, I'll stick with your blog.
By the way, Leah, I am totally calling it "your fault" that I have changed my mind for my new machine from the Pfaff GQ1200 to the new Janome Horizon 7700. I test drove it this week and fell in love. I get it next week and can't wait!
Teresa – LOL! Yeah, it's all MY fault! Ha.
Enjoy your new Horizon!
Leah
"Old School" people not only refuse to have an iPhone, they also refuse to have a cell phone. Stand up against being available to others 24/7. Human beings need some quiet time each day without the stupid phone ringing or the computer honking "You've got mail!"
It is Tues midday in Houston and I still cannot download to IPhone. The word install is greyed out. I love your thoughtfulness in doing this for the quilting community. Thanks.
Peggy
Huh…Well guys, I think the developer got tired of giving his app away for free. Maybe one day I'll develop one myself that won't be so buggy!
Until then, just enjoy the designs on You Tube or Blogger.
Let's go quilt,
Leah Day
I was able to download the app this morning (Wednesday).. I did get the "age restricted" dialog box, though!
You can also download this app if you have an ipod touch. I just did and am going to watch it now.
Is there any chance in the near future there might be one of your videos app suitable for my Acer Tablet
I can not wait until Thursday (we are a day ahead of you in New Zealand) for the next class, thank you so very much for taking the time to help us all
