Run Around Wednesday
First off, let me give a Super THANK YOU! to everyone who commented yesterday about my signing dilemma.
A ton of great ideas were thrown out yesterday about not only signing the prints, but also including information about the quilt itself and / or the print.
Time, of course, is not on my side as I’ve put this off to the last minute right before the Asheville Quilt Show, but I figure the best way to do something is to do it right from the start.
So here’s the finished print signed with a silver pen on the front:
I’ve also printed a small, acid free paper to slip into the back that includes the quilt name, the date it was completed, and what materials were used in the quilt.
I’m also thinking about hand labeling what number of print each one is. I don’t see limiting the number of prints I make, but I can definitely understand why someone would want to own one of the first of the whole series.
I’m really glad I asked for everyone’s opinion and thank you all for sharing! I probably would never have thought of including the card or numbering the prints, both of which really make the print much more special.
So when I haven’t been running around town looking for an archival silver or white pen (which are hard to find in Shelby, NC by the way!), I’ve been finishing up on my booth banner:
I’m extremely pleased with out this finished. Of course in the scramble to quilt it, I didn’t spend too much time worrying about my thread color so of course the fillers I used on the rays don’t show up very well.
I will take close up photos at the booth tomorrow once everything is set up, but here you can see a mock up I’ve created in my living room:
I did this because the last time Josh and I traveled we showed up with twice as much stuff as we had space! I really wanted to spread it all out and get a good layout and idea of where everything will go before packing.
Of course it’s made a bit mess of my living room! Josh hasn’t been able to get to his fish tanks so I think he’s really ready for me to tear it all down and start getting it out into the car. I’ve just got a bit more rearranging to do before I’m ready to pack, but it’s all most there.
So that’s it for this Run Around Wednesday! It’s been a whirlwind of a week, but this time tomorrow the booth will be set up and we will be chilling in our hotel in Asheville. Let’s just hope I can get all the work I need to get done between now and then!
Let’s go quilt (or pack)!
