Don't get "hung up" on labels Leah. None of us is just one thing: mother, sister, wife, whatever.
We are all more "Etc" than just one thing. Just continue to be YOU and you'll be heading in the right direction.
We all love you, however you label yourself… or don't label yourself!

I really hate to be picky, but your statement (and I quote)

"considering myself an Artist, as opposed to just a Quilter"

    doesn't seem quite fair.

As quilters we are QUILTERS and not JUST quilters. I believe we are ALL artists in our own right.

    Your work is beautiful!

Hi Mimi – Calm down a bit chicka and read the last paragraph again.

I'm a quilter because I'd rather not define myself as an artist. While, yes, you can obviously define yourself as both, I'd rather just stick with "Quilter" and keep life simple!

    Cheers,

    Leah

No matter what you label yourself as, there are some labels you can't escape. Artist. Creative genius. Puppetmaster of fabric. Freemotion quilting icon. Soon-to-be ruler of the quilting world. These are all labels you've earned, dear, simply by redefining quilting in such exciting and unexpected ways that we all quiver for more.

Stitch on, my friend. Stitch on.

I guess I should add my two cents. I don't care if you're an artist or a quilter–You Do Beautiful work! At a quilt club meeting last night someone called me an artist when I was showing my free motion feathers and I found myself saying no I'm just a quilter 🙂 I don't like labels either. Thank you so much for sharing your work with us!
