How to Win a Ribbon at a Quilt Show

Have you ever wondered how quilt shows work? Why do the same type of quilts win and why does everything have to be quilted to death these days?

Learn more about quilting for show and winning a ribbon with me today! Click Here to find this episode of the Hello My Quilting Friends podcast.

The quilt hanging in the background of the video is The Duchess, my very first show quilt that I made in 2009 and promptly ruined. Make sure to listen to the end of the podcast or read more about The Duchess right here so you don’t make the same mistake!

Quilting for show is really fun and it’s a terrific way to build your skills and go over-the-top with your abilities in a short space of time. I encourage you to give it a try, but always keep in mind the ribbon, awards, and cash prizes are just icing on the cake. The point and purpose is the journey to creating a fantastic quilt!

Let’s go quilt,

In addition to regular wife & mother duties. My family is surviving the passing of our dear, encouraging, and wise matriarch. She inspired me to make quilts and lap cloths for the elderly. They are based on sights, sounds, and themes
    learned from church.
    To God be the glory!
