    Hope this doesn't post twice. Goats will eat the bark off of the trees and kill them over time. Had a goat as a pet when I was a kid. Thanks for the walk down memory lane and good luck with getting critters.

    Sorry to say that goats will kill your trees over time. They eat the bark from the trees and anything else they can get their mouth around. Had a goat for a pet when I was a kid, sweet and gentle. Thanks for the walk down memory lane and good luck with getting critters.

    I understand your desire to grow your own yarn. For a realistic view about raising goats and sheep, go to http://chickensintheroad.com for some great stories. While you are there, contact Suzanne and offer to buy the wool off of her sheep. She sold it last year in various forms. 🙂
