Why You Should Pursue Your Dream Achievement
Here is the video I was watching with Jordan Peterson about orienting yourself towards your greatest good. I believe this is the purpose of our dream achievements. Why else would we get nudges to make certain things?
I believe this is a poke from our future selves, wanting us to make the quilt, or write the book, or go on the trip that will positively change our lives. If that sounds a bit too woo-hoo, then consider this – how can making your special quilt ever be a bad thing?
It can’t be a bad thing! It can only ever be a good thing to pursue creating the things you’ve most wanted to make. I know writing the book Leah Day’s Goddess Quilts has been challenging and at times I wanted to give up and quit.
But through it all, I knew this was an important thing for me to create. I made it for myself first. In order to do that, I had to let go of everyone else’s expectations for what this book would be about. It is an art quilt memoir.
It is not a technique book. It does not include patterns. That might be a future book or workshop down the road. But that information didn’t belong in this book.
Having gotten to this point and being able to hold the book and the planner I also created in my hands, I can say this journey was worth it every step of the way! Finishing this feels different from anything else I’ve ever done. I truly feel like this has made me a better woman, wife, mother, and quilter.
So I hope you will give this some thought and see if you can orient your life towards your greatest good. I promise, the world will make way for you!
Let’s go quilt,
Leah Day
