How to Attach Leader Cloth to a Longarm

Today we’re learning how to attach leader cloth to a Grace Qnique longarm on a Continuum Frame. This can be kind of tricky and complicated so follow along with me as I show you how to attach the leader cloth step by step.

Click Here to check out the Continuum Frame I’m using in this video. The Continuum is a traditional 3 rail frame and I love that it can grow with you as your skills improve as a quilter.  I’ve just recently expanded my frame and very soon I’m adding quilt motion as well!

Attaching Leader Cloth is Surprisingly Complicated!

These days I rarely have to re-shoot a video. Rarely.

But making this video was very difficult! I can’t count the number of bad words I said while filming and Josh had to edit VERY carefully! LOL!

So yes, attaching your cloth leaders is complicated in the sense that you have three pieces of fabric going on the rails in different directions and rolling up in different ways. So make sure to watch the end of this video so you can see how each one is attached and roll onto the rails.

It’s really NOT that complicated, but it’s a hard thing to explain in words.

What do you use to get the rubber tubing in the groove on the rails?

I have the Qnique 21Pro machine and the Continuum 11 Frame

1st question – what is the difference between the Continuum and the Coninuum 11 ?

2nd question – my machine seems to roll rather tightly, is that normal? I am so new to this, I don’t know if this is just the way it is supposed to roll.

The Continuum II has redesigned sides, ratchets, and height adjustment system. This makes it very different from the original Continuum frame, but the leaders should still attach the same way as they did in this video.
