Quilt Marking Tips

Just in case you ever worry about it, no, marking your quilt top is NOT cheating. I actually find marking essential to take the guess-work out of what designs I’m going to quilt and how they will work on the quilt.
I’ve also found that marking the design makes it flow a lot faster. Instead of having to guess which design to quilt next or guess which direction I’m quilting, the marked lines are the perfect guide. The less I stop to think and brood about the design means more time quilting!

i'm pretty much "self taught", [meaning i have learned from all of you wonderful people who share your talent on the internet!!!], and the first few teachers hate marking so i a assumed i also would. then i watched judy madson who marks everything and thought, well i could try that and i love it!!!! not for each and every stitch, but as one more trick in my bag, great. it allows me to be much more exact which i want.
