Long Term Goals and Best Time to Blog

I’m still trying to figure out my schedule around blogging daily. It’s not so much the HOW – get on the computer and write something Leah! It’s the WHEN.

I like to chain behaviors together so I’m always blogging right after breakfast or at the end of the day or something like that. I still haven’t figured out the best time that will work every day.

Part of the reason why is every day is so wildly different. Yesterday I quilted on the longarm for an hour, then worked on the website, then went out to the Crafty Cottage and filmed a new video. Today is working out completely different.

The only time that’s ever stable is first thing in the morning and that’s my dedicated fiction writing time. Maybe I should set aside the last 20 minutes of the day for blogging. It’s meant to be a journal after all!

So what’s been going on this week? I’ve been working on the piecing videos for the collaboration I’m doing with Sheri Cilfaldi-Morrill this fall. I’m really excited to finish this up today so I can start the best part – quilting!

I also shared a new podcast episode yesterday on setting and reaching long term goals. I feel like I’ve hit a major goal working with Grace Company and creating the quilting rulers and that feels amazing.

This was also episode 50 so I figured it was a good time to check in on the podcast and share how that’s going. When it first started, it was so hard to make even a single episode, and now we’re (mostly) sharing a new hour long show every week.

I also share a lot of tips on setting and reaching long term goals. I think everyone WANTS things. I want to share my goddess quilts in patterns, books, embroidery designs and fabric designs. But how do we make it happen?

Small steps taken every day. It’s as simple as that. It’s as hard as that.

Speaking of small steps, I’m heading back out to the cottage to film another video and finish quilting Prism Path for our quilt along starting on Monday!

Let’s go quilt,
