Kitty love! How old is Pickles, a baby? Her coloring reminds of my Toby, who at 7 weeks old, appeared in our garage. Still have no clue how he got there. It was meant 'to be', therefore his name, Toby.

I love your new assistant! She reminds me of my little girl (Chawn YaJah – that is Navajo for little s***). She took no prisoners, but was the best assistant I ever had. Treasure her. 🙂

Pickles is so cute! I love having my cat Maggie in my sewing room. I have a cat bed in there so once she finishes smelling everything, she sleeps in her bed!

  4. She's gorgeous! In my house, no quilt gets passed as complete until it has 'cat-approval' – Rumbles has an uncanny sixth sense of knowing exactly when I am laying out a quilt for basting and he will appear from nowhere to give it the rest-test! Enjoy your new companion.

I'm truly glad to know Pickles for her fur-ever home with you and your loving family. I think she may be so vocal as she has never known such love and just can't get enough. Not that I want to encourage drugs, but you may want to try giving her some catnip when she is so vocal and you don't have time. It might help to relax her a bit. For some of my cats, introducing a new toy, at such a time sometimes helped (e.g. plastic easter eggs, empty spools of thread, balls of aluminum foil, etc). And they don't always have to be new, as much as toys that may have been rotated/set aside for a week or so. Still, I'm confident she loves you and doesn't want to let you out of her site.

  6. She's gorgeous. Will be lots of company. My cat sits in her perch and keeps one eye on me and one looking out the window.

You're probably right. It seems as soon as I let her into the cottage or the house she chills right out and quiets down. I'll try a few toys with catnip and see how it goes over.

Lol! That is some seriously strong quilt detection!

  9. Leah Day says:

Too funny! She must have been a handful!

She's not very old, but she's already had a litter of kittens. She's fixed now and I'm tempted to go back to the shelter and see if any of her kitties are still there. Her personality is so unique I'm sure they would be fun to have as well.

Happy for you both and waiting for a new podcast, "Hello my quilting cats . . . "

I enjoy your posts. They are well written and informative. Health and vision problems have been giving me some problems lately and I have not been reading anything as much as I used to. I would encourage you to do what is right for you. If you would like to quit your posting then I whish you success for whatever you choose to do in the future.
