Learn How to Quilt Feathers in Quiltmaker Magazine

Are you itching to learn how to free motion quilt feathers? In the May / June 2015 issue of Quiltmaker Magazine I’ve got an article just for you!

For this article I shared a small feather diagram for you to trace and practice and instructions for quilting the feather two different ways. Josh sweetly agreed to stitch the feathers for the article and traced and quilted multiple times so I had plenty of ugly stitches to share.

Yes, it’s 100% normal to stitch feathers a bit wonky, lopsided, or just plain ugly in the beginning! Be patient and keep tracing and practicing and pretty soon you will find that perfect shape you’ve been looking for.
