#428. Free Motion Quilt Basic Star

It’s quilting time! This week I’m feeling like stitching some simple stars:

This Basic Star design is one of my favorites. Start with a circle and fill it with straight lines to form a star. You can’t get more simple than this!

Would you like to learn how to quilt Basic Star on a larger scale? This design was also featured in my Craftsy class Free Motion Fillers Volume 1.

I love the simplicity of these stars and the combination of the curving circles and straight lines. The center spot of the stars will always stand out because of all the lines of quilting overlapping in that area.

I’ve always wanted to stitch this on a small quilt and place a little hot fix crystal in the center of every basic star. I think that would be a super cool effect!

Let’s go quilt,

Love the star design. You make it look so easy. What kind of machine are you using and what foot do you have on. It looks so open.

This would be so fun on a holiday quilt! Makes me think of peppermints!
