65. Learn how to Quilt Underwater Rocks, #410

It’s time to go quilt and today we have a gorgeous design to learn! This new, alternative version of Pebbling is much easier and more fun because it doesn’t require ANY perfect stitching. Just swing around your circles, over lap, echo, whatever and you’ll end up with something like this:

I love free form designs, but I really haven’t made very many of them. Tree Bark is another design that’s like this – fluid, organic, completely impossible to mess up because it’s absolutely not focused on perfection.

I can see a lot more designs like this coming soon. More thread, less precision!

Just like with regular Pebbling, Underwater Rocks will definitely stand out on your quilt. Check out how nicely it filled the background of Express Your Love:

Unfortunately after stitching that area I had to go back to more precise stitching for the designs around it. My hands and body had relaxed so much I had to take a break and come back in order to get back into the precise / controlled way of stitching.

So give this one a try today and let yourself go with the flow with this groovy design!

Let’s go quilt,

Leah

This "pebbeling" fill looks like a bone marrow or liver sample under the microscope! It is beautiful!

A wonderful design! I am trying to decide if I have anything to use it on now. It looks so relaxing to stitch too.

I love how this looks. I used it on a quilt. The next time I will make the rocks bigger though because I felt it made the quilt a bit stiff with the size rocks I made. They were all mostly 1" and under.
