Those tree/landscape sections are really gorgeous! I mean, the whole piece is going to be stunning, but that's a great looking bit of quilty real estate.

I can't believe it's summer holidays over there already. In the UK we have just had half term and gone back into the last 5 or 6 weeks of school. And summer? When that arrives I think our summer break will have already started!!

The Duchess is shaping up really amazingly!!!

  9. Amazing work! Just beautiful. I'm glad you are finding a balance of work and play. Enjoy your summer.

Your quilting is incredible, as you know. I love your Duchess. But seriously, no food and/dishes in the cabinets???

  13. Leah Day says:

Wendy – lol. I have a second kitchen in the basement that is half my studio space. It doesn't need to hold food or pots and pans because no cooking happens here except turkey on Thanksgiving!

    Cheers,

    Leah

Leah, I have recently found your FMQ through Craftsy. I've been watching your tutorials and notice your perfectly even stitches. I have a Janome 6600 and have done some FMQ. Does your Horizon 7700 have something like a stitch regulator to achieve the even stitches?

  16. Leah Day says:

Darly – No, the Janome horizon 7700 and 8900 do not have stitch regulators. Personally I think stitch regulators are expensive and eventually you will grow out of it because they currently don't allow machines to go fast enough. That's just my personal opinion, but give it 1 month of solid practice. if you still absolutely can't get it, then yes, a stitch regulator might help.
