21. Learn how to Quilt Loopy Doopy Spiral, #385

It’s time for another fun design, still working along that same theme we’re playing with in Zigzag Spiral, Wiggle Wiggle Spiral, Hot Hot Spiral, and now Loopy Doopy Spiral!

This is basically a combo of Loopy Line and spirals and it’s quite a fun combo. Because the loops allow the rule for crossing your quilting lines, you can get away with quite a lot with this design. Just remember, mistakes are only mistakes if you decide they are wrong!

I absolutely love this design. I noticed that I'm really drawn to many of the circular designs and can't wait to try this one. Thanks for your hard work, designs and the reminder that only we notice our mistakes. That we should just give ourselves a break. 🙂

You are so right! Thank you for your advice in it being OK to make a mistake and NOT unpicking the whole thing. Also I would like to thank you for your review of the Janome 7700. I have been looking at one and your post made it clear that I would have a great machine to work with. I just hope I can get the machine soon!

  3. I like this design A LOT! I also like your attitude. Own your quilt — even own your mistakes — and take pride in your accomplishments, quilt police be damned. I end up with UFOs because I tie myself up in knots because of the endless number of design possibilities available to me. Setting a constrained set of rules actually is freeing. Thank you.

That is one of the most appealing designs you have done!! I am sitting here asking myself 'why'? It has just struck me how much I really like it and will add it to my copy of your book (hand drawn in, of course!!!). You are so right….we do such mind games on ourselves when it comes to critiquing our work! Thank you for the most excellent video!!!! Hugs, Doreen
