Leah Day has been teaching online since 2009. She's the creator of the Free Motion Quilting Project, a blog filled with thousands of quilting tutorial videos. Leah has written several books including 365 Free Motion Quilting Designs, Explore Walking Foot Quilting with Leah Day, and Mally the Maker and the Queen in the Quilt.

    I don't know about everyone else but I'm glad it's taken way more than 365 days for you to share your designs with us – you've also shared your progress on your creations and emergence of yourself

    I for one am looking forward to what else you have to share and teach us well after the 365 FMQ patterns (and I'm sure there are more from that creative mind of yours as well)

    Leah, thanks for this design. I have a portal quilt I did in a class with Esterita Austin, and I think this would be an excellent choice for quilting. It's been in my "maybe later" project box for ages as I couldn't come up with a way to quilt it.

    I love the idea of a sci fi quilt! Your list should include Alien Fingers, Bright Star, and Bubble Path Spiral (because it looks like a big wormhole to me!). And speaking of which – Wormholes too! I've also used Sand Dollar in the background of a small piece with a crescent moon. They came across as very starry/moony in that context.
