Come See Dream Goddess in Person

Here’s something fun for quilters living around my area of NC! I have two quilts in the I Am Woman exhibit at the Southern Arts Society gallery in Kings Mountain, NC. Even better, Dream Goddess won second place at the show!

I love seeing this quilt on display so you can see the back and front.

This is the second time I entered this I Am Woman exhibition and I’m delighted to win second place a second time! It’s hard to believe that was 8 years ago. I plan to participate in this show more often, but knowing how long it takes to create one of these big quilts makes me wonder how soon I’ll be able to enter again.

I’m feeling very retrospective these days because I’m paging through old blog posts as I write the book on my goddess quilts. It’s a bit happy / sad to see how much things have changed, but I love that I have this record of what was going on in our lives from 2009 until now.

I’ve decided to return to blogging daily. This is very much like a journal and it’s so nice to be able to look back on these times years later. I might not be able to remember entering this competition this year if I don’t write it down somewhere!

Now I’m off to film new videos on the Q-Zone hoop frame. I’m learning how to use my Nikon DSLR camera for filming and it’s been a big adjustment, but definitely making a big difference for my videos. What are you busy with today?

Let’s go quilt,

Congratulations on Dream Goddess taking 2nd place in such a highly competitive show. She is absolutely stunning. I hope you’ll enter her at Road and other Quilt Shows, so more can see and enjoy. Total #CreativeGoodness.

Well, it wasn’t THAT competitive. LOL! It’s an art show so typically the traditional art pieces do better than quilts. I’m thinking about showing the collection as an exhibit at quilt shows over the next few years. It would be a lot of work, but I would love to see all of them hanging at once!

Congratulations on winning the award for your beautiful quilt! You certainly deserved it! I am delighted that you have decided to return to blogging daily because I love to read blogs, you are on my Bloglovin feed. I don’t use Instagram, or Facebook. If I used Instagram as well, I’d never get any quilting done!

Wonderful! I’m so happy to hear this Vivian! I agree – Instagram is WAY too addictive and it encourages a fake “only my best” kind of posting that really isn’t healthy. We all have ugly behind the scenes, bad days, chapped lips, etc! I’m so happy you’ll be here to enjoy it!
