FMQ Friday – Living to Quilt

If quilting is an addiction, I’m a junkie getting a serious fix!

I can’t explain just how much fun this is. For so long this quilt was in various stages of design and she was easy to walk away from, knowing that one day…one day she’d be ready to quilt.

And now that she’s here, this is all I want to work on, all I want to think about. Filling this way is both tedious and boring, but every time I stop, see I’ve accomplished something and that she’s starting to take shape and all I want to do is sit back down again and keep quilting.

It’s not easy to stay balanced when a quilt like this is on my table. I’m so very lucky to have a family that not only understands, but encourages this behavior! Josh has been pushing me to work on Duchess Reigns for months, and I think he’s as excited as I am to see her take shape.

So here’s to the big projects, the ones that turn your life around, the ones that make you act slightly crazy, and stop taking showers or combing your hair. Here’s to living to quilt!

Now what have you quilted this week? Simple rules for the FMQ Friday link up:

1. Link up with a post that features something about Free Motion Quilting (FMQ).
2. Somewhere in your post, you must link back here, or you can just post the FMQF button in your sidebar.
3. Comment on at least a few of the other FMQF links. Share your love of free motion quilting and make this weekly link up a fun way to connect!

She's absolutely spectacular! I see you have your hanging clips holding up the weight of the quilt. I love that you are able to figure out what it is that YOU need and tinker and fiddle until you can make that work. You are an amazing woman. Your quilt is almost as amazing. I am enjoying seeing her progress, immensely.

    My favorite part? The talons!

    So powerful.
