Leah Day has been teaching online since 2009. She's the creator of the Free Motion Quilting Project, a blog filled with thousands of quilting tutorial videos. Leah has written several books including 365 Free Motion Quilting Designs, Explore Walking Foot Quilting with Leah Day, and Mally the Maker and the Queen in the Quilt.

    Leah, I am in absolute awe of your quilting. I was going to use the word "awesome" but that is such an overused term these days that it doesn't convey what I feel any more. Great idea to use practise squares.

    Hey Leah,
    First off, thanks for being such an amazing teacher! I have only just begun my quilting journey, but your posts and videos have encouraged me to persevere with my current equipment, and that has helped me loads. I promise to try free motion in earnest soon! With that in mind, I would like to see more preprinted backgrounds, like the express your love one that you have on spoonflower, designed for free motion quilting practice. It would be nice to get a head start, have a chance of creating something beautiful but without running the risk of ruining a top I've spent time piecing. 🙂
